Installation on Microsoft Windows

Availability and Prerequisites

The TFORMer SDK is available for 32-bit and 64-bit Microsoft Windows.

The SDK includes .NET Framework and .NET Standard assemblies and corresponding samples. The SDK core does not depend on .NET, and setup installs the .NET feature only when the required .NET Framework runtime is available.

Installation and Locations

Run the setup application and select the required SDK components, samples, and documentation. The installation directory depends on the package and operating-system architecture:

  • C:\Program Files\TEC-IT\TFORMer9 SDK
For the 64-bit package on 64-bit Windows, or the 32-bit package on 32-bit Windows.

  • C:\Program Files (x86)\TEC-IT\TFORMer9 SDK
For the 32-bit package on 64-bit Windows.

On 32-bit Windows, setup installs only the 32-bit executables and DLLs. On 64-bit Windows, the 64-bit package installs both architectures in the same SDK Bin directory.

Silent Installation

Use the SDK EXE setup for unattended installation. Open a command prompt as administrator in the folder containing the downloaded setup and run:

TFORMer_SDK.exe /install /quiet /norestart /log "TFORMer-setup.log"

Replace TFORMer_SDK.exe with the downloaded filename. /quiet hides the setup UI; /norestart prevents an automatic restart. In deployment scripts, wait for setup to finish and check its exit code and log, including whether a restart is required.

Append options as needed:

  • Installation directory
InstallFolder="C:\Applications\TFORMer SDK" selects a different destination.
  • Feature selection
For example, FeatDocu=0 omits the documentation.
  • Visual C++ runtime
Setup installs missing runtime prerequisites. Use InstallVCRuntime=0 only if your deployment already provides the required runtimes; it does not remove the dependency.

For the full parameter and feature list, run TFORMer_SDK.exe -? and select Command line help to open the HTML help included with that setup.

Supported APIs

Setup installs the programming interfaces and command-line application selected during installation:

Sample Applications and Templates

Windows setup installs samples and templates below the versioned shared-data directory. Windows Explorer may hide ProgramData by default.

  • Samples: C:\ProgramData\TEC-IT\TFORMer\9\Examples
  • Templates: C:\ProgramData\TEC-IT\TFORMer\9\Templates
