Redistributing TBarCode Library

This chapter summarizes the files required when distributing an application that uses TBarCode Library.

Redistributing TBarCode Library generally requires a Developer license. Site-bound in-house use may be covered differently. The applicable TEC-IT license agreement and the license issued for the application are authoritative.

Dependencies

Deploy the files that match the target process architecture:

TBarCode11.dll
Native Win32 (x86) barcode-generation library; required by 32-bit applications.
TBarCode11_x64.dll
Native Win64 (x64) barcode-generation library; required by 64-bit applications.
zlib1.dll
Optional compression library. Deploy the matching architecture when the application uses barcode data compression.
gs1-syntax-dictionary.txt
Required when the application uses GS1 definitions. Deploy a current copy and keep this file name when the application loads it from a directory.

The SDK setup installs these files below C:\Program Files\Common Files\TEC-IT\TBarCode\11.17 for 64-bit components and below the corresponding Program Files (x86) path for 32-bit components.

TBarCode Library also requires the Microsoft C and C++ runtime libraries used to build it.

Redistribution

Place the architecture-matching TBarCode and optional zlib libraries in the application directory or install them through the supported SDK setup. Do not redistribute other SDK files unless the applicable license permits it.

When the application uses GS1 definitions, also deploy gs1-syntax-dictionary.txt. Make the file available through the supported configuration directory for the target platform or pass its file or directory path to BCInitGs1(). Treat an explicit load error as an application error and do not continue with GS1 processing until the definitions load successfully.

Install the latest supported Microsoft Visual C++ v14 Redistributable for each required target architecture. Microsoft provides separate x86 and x64 packages.
